The Micron series of Compression Load Cells are designed for general use and are suitable for use in laboratories or in permanent outdoor installations.

The CPA series are built to exacting standards and are suitable for use in exposed installations, with versions being available for full immersion in water. There are many special options, which have been previously supplied, including, domed top (supplied with or without loading cap), integral carry handles, mounting base integral connectors, and internal analogue/digital signal amplifiers. The standard product is constructed from stainless steel.

The CPA series can be supplied as shown in this datasheet or can be modified to meet a particular application requirement. We are always pleased to discuss any special requirements that can be accommodated. The CPA series can be supplied on it's own or combined with our extensive range of instrumentation to provide a complete load monitoring system

PTC-1 Stainless Steel Low Profile Universal Load Cell

The PTC-1 series load cells are based on the conventional low profile or pancake load cell principle. The internal construction is a shear web design, offering high natural frequency, low deflection and excellent resistance to side and torsion forces.

The PTC-1 is constructed from stainless steel offering excellent corrosion resistance. There is an optional mounting base available, which is required if the load cell is to be used in tension. The mounting base is also constructed from stainless steel.
The standard load cell is supplied with an integral MIL spec. connector and supplied with a mating connector.

The PTC-1 is ideally suited to many testing applications, where high stability and low height are essential requirements.
The PTC-1 can be supplied with any of Micron Systems range of load cell instrumentation, and can be supplied calibrated as a complete ready to go system.

The SWA-1 series of products uses a stainless steel double ended shear beam design, sealed to IP68 and is supplied as a complete assembly with mounting brackets. The mounting bracket assembly enables simple mounting for the engineer on site. It incorporates a number of key features that enables the best-installed accuracy to be realized. These include anti-lift off mechanism, compensation for thermal expansion and off-axis loading.

The SWA-1 is available in 5 different sizes (full details shown on the reverse of this data sheet). The standard mounting assembly is of a painted alloy steel construction, with a stainless steel option available for food, hygienic or corrosive applications.

TCA Stainless Steel Tension and Compression Load Cell

The TCA series load cell is ideal for measuring both tensile and compressive forces. The standard metric threads at each end of the load cell are designed to accept standard spherical seating rod-end bearing.

There is great flexibility in the TCA design, allowing us to offer special sizes, to meet specific application requirements, or different end thread sizes/combinations. There are versions available with male threads at each end, or male threads one end, female the other. We are also happy to supply any of the TCA series with imperial thread sizes.

The TCA series can be supplied as shown in this datasheet or can be modified to meet a particular application requirement. We are always pleased to discuss any special requirements that can be accommodated. The Micron Systems UF1 series force sensors from the range of Pioden Transducers has been widely used in many applications for more than 40 years.

The UF1 has proved the first choice for many applications including muscular and membrane movement monitoring, yarn and fabric tension control, fluid viscosity measurement and even the force induced in butterfly wings during flight.

There are many other applications that the UF1 has been used in. It is most popular in applications where our customers need to measure small forces, with a good level of accuracy, minimal deflection and with a flexible mounting arrangement.

The WAS range of load cells from Micron Systems have been specifically designed for applications where there is a requirement for the force application component to pass through the center of the load cell. This style of product is often referred to by different names, including annular load cells, force washers, donut load cells, through hole load cells etc.

The main application for the WAS series is measuring the tension in bolts for safety monitoring and control, or general quality control. Micron Systems specialize in the design of custom load cells, so have also been heavily involved in designing similar product for rock anchor force measurement, fork lift truck weighing, and tie rod tension monitoring.

If you have a requirement for an annular or through-hole load cell that can not be satisfied with the standard WAS series, then contact our technical department with your requirement, and we will probably be able to solve your application problem for you.
